The vessels are the first of a total of 6 craft to be manufactured by Holyhead MArine Services Ltd for the MOD Police. After thanking all who played a part in the project, Chief Constable Steve Love then performed the traditional boat naming ceremony, in which the Chief called for fair winds, safe passage and good fortune to all who sail on the two vessels, finally pouring champagne over their bows to complete a successful occasion.

The project is an important one for Holyhead Marine Services featuring its Camarc designed 15m hull in a twin Waterjet configuration. The success of this project has lead to enquiries from other authorities with regard to similar patrol boat and pilot boat requirements.
